AMOGHASIDDHI BUDDHA (NEWARI)
Description
Amoghasiddhi is one of the five Dhyani Buddhas who represent various qualities of buddhahood. "Amogasiddhi" means "unfailing success/power" hence his mudra is that of abhaya or "fearlessness". His worship is considered an antidote to envy, and he is connected with the sense of touch (which is in turn related to the element of air). This thangka is a reproduction of a 400 year old Newari work.
